Information for Clubs Sometimes a Club can feel that every organization wants money; and its tough coping with multiple requests; local, state, international, along with influential members' favorites. Certainly they can't all be treated equally; there's not enough money to make a significant donation to all those with their hands out. For most, the first priority is local causes; what you do is serve your community. It's logical, realistic and right. So, when it comes to sorting budget priorities, isn't it also logical to next consider the Wisconsin organization whose sole reason for existing is to provide valuable services you can implement locally? To help you serve by Reaching, Touching, Improving lives. That would be the Wisconsin Lions Foundation (WLF). Does your club do Children's Vision Screening? Collect used eyeglasses? Have children in your community or nearby with special challenges; vision, hearing, diabetes, cognitive, attended Lions Camp? Are you thinking about or have you undertaken a community diabetes awareness effort? Have you sought help with funding a hearing aid for a needy senior? Have you worked with your local schools and shared information regarding Lions Quest, developed to help K-12 children cope with peer and family pressures. The Wisconsin Lions Foundation in Rosholt is the common vehicle for uncommon good. Helping you serve your local community via statewide projects [designated and approved annually by the Council of (District) Governors]. In a sense, every Lion in Wisconsin is an “owner” of Wisconsin Lions Foundation, fifty cents of each dues payment is directed to WLF. (Of course, with about 20,000 Wisconsin Lions, that doesn't go very far toward an annual operating expense of about $1.7 million.)
